One of FSPA's most cherished programs is our support for the sixth grade Science Camp — an outdoor education experience that gives Art Freiler students hands-on learning in ecology, geology, and environmental science.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

For many students, Science Camp is a highlight of their middle school years. Over several days, sixth graders explore natural environments, conduct field experiments, and build teamwork skills alongside their classmates and teachers.

"Science Camp takes what students learn in textbooks and brings it to life," shared an Art Freiler sixth grade teacher. "FSPA's funding ensures that every student can participate regardless of their family's financial situation."

Community Support Makes It Possible

FSPA allocates a portion of annual fundraising proceeds specifically to the Science Camp fund. Contributions from our Fun Run, Community Supporter memberships, and direct donations all contribute to making this experience accessible to every sixth grader.

This year, FSPA covered supplemental costs including transportation, equipment, and scholarships for families who needed additional support — ensuring 100% participation across the sixth grade class.
